Brand Strategy

GET THE MESSAGE RIGHT FIRST

Brand is not a logo. It is whether someone can tell in five seconds what you do, who you do it for, and why you rather than the other three quotes.

POSITIONING

What you do, who it is for, and the reason someone chooses you over the alternative. Written down in one paragraph that everything else has to agree with.

Unclear positioning does not announce itself. It shows up as ads costing more, content being hard to write, and every quote turning into a price comparison.

What's included

  • Positioning statement
  • What makes you the obvious choice
  • Competitor and market review
  • Which jobs are worth chasing
  • Where you sit on price

Audience

WHO YOU'RE FOR

Who is actually worth chasing. Which jobs are profitable, which are a headache, and where the customers you want are already spending their attention.

Trying to appeal to everyone is why most small business marketing sounds like every other business in the same trade.

What's included

  • Customer profile definition
  • Profitable versus problem jobs
  • Where your customers actually look
  • Service area priorities
  • Objections to answer up front

MESSAGING FRAMEWORK

Your core message, the proof points behind it, and the way you answer the questions that come up on every single quote. Plain language, no jargon.

Written so it works on the phone as much as on the website. If you cannot say it out loud, it is not a message, it is a slogan.

What's included

  • Core message and supporting points
  • Answers to common objections
  • Tone of voice guide
  • Website and ad messaging
  • How to describe yourself in a sentence

VISUAL IDENTITY AND ROLLOUT

Logo, colours, typography, and the rules for using them. Built so it works on a phone screen, a shirt, a van, and a printed invoice without falling apart.

Then applied across the website, social channels, and ads so the whole thing lands at once rather than arriving in fragments over six months.

What's included

  • Logo and variations
  • Colour palette and typography
  • Brand guidelines document
  • All source files supplied to you
  • Rollout across every channel

Common questions

Do I need this, or do I just need a logo?

If you already know exactly who you are for and why people pick you, and you can say it the same way twice, you probably just need the visual work. If that sentence was hard to finish, the strategy is the part that is missing.

Can this be done alongside a website build?

Yes, and it usually is. Doing it first is better, because the site then gets built around a decided message instead of the message being reverse engineered out of a finished site.

Will you change my business name?

Only if there is a real reason and you want to. Changing a name that already has recognition and reviews attached is a serious decision, and most of the time the answer is no.

What do I actually get at the end?

A positioning statement, an audience definition, a messaging framework, the visual identity files, and a brand guidelines document. All yours to keep and use with anyone.

Is this worth it for a small operation?

It is worth more for a small operation than a large one, because you have less budget to waste on a message that does not land. That said, if nobody can find you at all, we would point you at your website and Google Business Profile first.
